Alex is an experienced litigation lawyer who has advised on a wide range of corporate and commercial disputes.  He rejoined Gilbert Walker after completing his LLM at New York University and working in the commercial litigation team at Allen & Overy LLP in London.  He is admitted to practise law in New Zealand and New York.

Alex graduated at the top of his Law School class from the University of Auckland.  He was awarded a number of academic prizes and also holds a BCom in accounting.  Alex won the 2007 Greg Everard Memorial Moot and represented New Zealand at the 2008 Philip C Jessup International Moot Court Competition held in Washington DC.

Alex joined Gilbert/Walker before taking his LLM in New York as a Fulbright Scholar.  While at Allen & Overy LLP, Alex acted for a number of banks and a major European aerospace company.  He has published an article on air carrier liability under the Montreal Convention in the Annals of Air and Space Law and has a continuing interest in aviation law.
