Hamish joined Gilbert/Walker after completing his LLM at the University of Cambridge as a W M Tapp Scholar, graduating first class.

Hamish began his legal career as a Judges’ Clerk at the Court of Appeal after graduating LLB (Hons) / BA from the University of Auckland, where he finished second overall in his law school class.  In 2014 Hamish joined Shortland Chambers as a junior barrister, where he appeared in the High Court and Court of Appeal.  At Chambers he acted particularly in the areas of commercial equity, company law, conflict of laws, and property law.

Hamish has published articles concerning personal property securities, charities law, and constitutional law.  Hamish has tutored public law at the University of Auckland.
