James began working at Gilbert Walker as a research and litigation assistant in July 2024. He joined the firm as a law clerk in November following the completion of his law degree and honours dissertation.
James represented the University of Auckland in the Australian Law Students Association negotiation competition in Sydney, Australia, after winning the Auckland University competition. He was also a managing editor of the Auckland University Law Review in 2023.
With a degree in Pharmacology, James has also tutored first and second year biomedical science, pharmacy, and medicine.
